Our Blog

16th November

Well, I am now into the run-up to the start of December and my preparations to make sure that everything runs as smoothly as possible over the very busy (I hope!!) two weeks prior to Christmas.  For the last few weeks I have been keeping busy helping to wire fruit, fir cones, cinnamon sticks and lotus heads in preparation for making the door wreathes which will be available from the 1st December.  Bring on the sore fingers!!  I have also been helping with the designing of our Christmas bouquets, table centres and many other designs. Christmas can be a very stressful time of the year for everyone and the aim is to make your Christmas floral arrangements as stress free as possible.

Kat (the clever one!!!) and I, are also going to be at “The Magic of Christmas Show”, at the Kings Hall, Balmoral, Belfast so that has also been keeping us busy making all the arrangements.  Why not come along to the Kings Hall on Sat/Sun the 27th & 28th November between 10 am and 6 pm on Saturday and 10 am and 5pm on Sunday?  Make sure you come and see us and say hello!!

In the meantime, good luck with the Christmas shopping!!

14th October

Well,
Halloween is here again & it's time to spook things up in Penelope Flowers! (If our staff don't scare you already)

The shop may smell faintly of pumpkins at the moment, as we have been hollowing out big pumpkins ready for our famous pumpkin designs!  Each is a selection of autumn coloured flowers and foliages. We also add a spooky witch to the pumpkin designs as a little treat!

The rich reds, oranges & yellows that are about at the moment are explosive! And best of all they will suit any room, regardless of the decor.  I particularly like the red oak leaves.

We also have some new natural door wreathes, which you may notice in our warming outdoor display at the moment.
They are perfect for hanging on your door, just to keep the spot warm for your christmas door wreath.....

But hey, don't just take my word for it! Call in and see for yourselves!

Happy Halloween

New Max Benjamin Winter range arrives to Penelope Flowers

We are very pleased to announce the arrival of the Autumn/Winter 2010 Max Benjamin home fragrance collection.

Due to extremely popular demand, we have the return of “Cloves and Cinnamon”, definitely the best Wintery scent about!  This gorgeous spicy scent is available in the 190g soy wax candle, the NEW 3 wick soy wax candle (an absolute must have for your coffee table!!) and the NEW reed fragrance diffuser. We have fairly limited stock in this scent, so please get yours soon as last year we sold out quite quickly and the scent is only available in the Winter!!! You have been warned!!

“Marquis” the NEW fragrance in the Autumn/Winter collection, is a tangerine, pepper, rosewood scent with a heart of jasmine and cedar with a base of patchouli, musks, amber and tonka.  You will absolutely love it if you like musky, dare I say “aftershave” scents!

All Max Benjamin soy candles burn with no soot and use essential oils, so they actually do scent your room beautifully.

Makes great Christmas presents!  Sorry to mention the “C” word in September but I am only repeating what our customers are already saying!

COMING SOON…LOTS OF PUMPKINS FILLED WITH FLOWERS!!!!
